Mandrus Wheels Mono-block Rotec and Multi-piece Stuttgart Mercedes-Benz Wheels Provide a Study in Contrasts Of The Wheelmaker’s Art.

Two Widely Divergent Engineering Approaches Both Yield Stunning Examples of Custom Mercedes Wheels.

Huntington Beach, CA (PRWEB) June 30, 2013

When it comes to aftermarket Mercedes Wheels, Mercedes Benz owners demand options, and the assurance that the Mercedes rims they are considering were designed and engineered specifically for their year and model Mercedes. Mandrus Mercedes Wheels rises to that challenge with twenty different models and finishes, in eleven different diameters and widths, all exclusively for Mercedes Benz cars and SUVs.

Two contrasting examples of the exemplary craftsmanship found in each Mandrus wheel: The Rotec mono-block rotary forged alloy wheel and the hand-assembled three-piece Stuttgart wheel. These vastly different engineering and manufacturing approaches have in common their compatibility with Mercedes legendary precision and quality, while serving as exemplars of the Mandrus commitment to design excellence in Mercedes Benz Wheels.

"Mercedes owners are fanatical about excellence and attention to detail. At Mandrus, we respond by assuring that every Mandrus wheel provides exact fit and compatibility with almost all models within the Mercedes lineup," stated Terence Scheckter, president of Mandrus Wheels. "That means that Mandrus wheels are precisely centered over the Mercedes hub for a velvety, vibration-free ride. The wheels fully support the Mercedes tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and accept the original equipment center logo cap," Scheckter added.

The Rotec model from Mandrus Wheels represents the leading edge of wheel manufacturing technology. The rotary forging process used to make the Rotec wheel results in a rim that is both dramatically lighter and stronger than original equipment and most aftermarket wheels. The alloy monoblock is spun at high speed under intense pressure in the forging process. The physics involved actually alters the molecular structure and enhances the strength of the alloy. The result is a much lighter wheel than a traditionally cast wheel. As good looking as it is a manufacturing marvel, the Rotec is available in Classic Chrome, trending Matte Black or in Silver with an eye-catching mirror-cut face.

The Stuttgart model wheels for Mercedes, in contrast, employs the traditional multi-component approach, combined with European-inspired precision craftsmanship. Forged inner and outer barrels are mated with a cast 5-spoke hub, hand-assembled to exacting standards using 30 aircraft-quality fasteners. The classic design of the Stuttgart wheel is available in traditional Chrome, Silver with a mirror-cut face and chrome lip or Gloss Black with a chrome lip.

Both Stuttgart and Rotec wheels are available in a wide variety of diameters, and within each diameter, wheel widths are available in two sizes, one typically a full one inch wider than the other. This supports the Mandrus philosophy of a staggered footprint, with wider wheels and tires in the rear. A staggered footprint not only gives the vehicle a more aggressive stance, it also improves both off-the-line and lateral adherence, for improved road holding and braking.
